RE: An interesting day, to say the least. May 20, 2006 - 22:29:29
It was a fairly good day for the most part today.  I got to hang out with that friend of mine(TimeDragon on the NBC forums) with a local Larp-esque group called Crimson CIrcle(www.crimson-circle.net/).  Things went fairly smooth with that with three exceptions:

1.) On a couple of occasions, there would be other people who just show up at our part of the park to do nothing more than harass us.  Apparently they thought LARP-ing had somehing to do with Pokemon, so they were doing some awfuly bad Pikachu impersonations.  Others even took some of the foam weapons and were bashing each other with them.  Most of these were also dointg a bit of drinking.  A lot of us were ready to "do something about it", but they soon got bored and left.

2.) Most of the way through the quest(I was part of a 3-person "dragon"), the rain hit and we had to all take cover under the tree so the foam weapons would get wet, then harden up.

3.) One of the fellow noobs was getting just a tad too aggressive and did manage to inflict some physical harm to one of the group members.  Something tells me he won't be welcome back anytime soon.

After the rain stopped, we did a bunch of different types of sword battles(which was enjoyable, even if physically exhausting).  It got to be around 4:40 and we had a 7:20 showtime of See No Evil(more on that later) to go to, so we left.  We got to the mall and we have some Subway.  All the running around made me hugry, so a footlong sub was in order.  After dinner, we still had time to kill, so we play a round of blacklight mini golf.  Even though we never offically kept track, we tied on all but 4 holes, of which I won only 1 of.  We bum around some more, then we went to see the movie.  While I will not go too in-depth(don't wanna spoil things), it was a very enjoyable and equally gruesome movie, even if it was predictable at times.  Her mom was kind enough to give a lift home and me and TimeDragon quickly agreed that we both had a hell of a time and that we should do something like this again in the near future.

Where will all this lead?  Only time can tell.

YA HA! May 19, 2006 - 16:49:52
I got bored, so I thought I'd blog for a bit.  Here's what's on my mind as of late....

1.) I just found out today one of my "Online friends" is friends with the gal I'm going to see the movie with tomorrow.  They also graduated from the same high school I did.  They were also freshmen at the same time I was still a senior there.  Just when I thought my world couldn't get any smaller.  LOL.

2.) In both my Spring bowling leagues so far, my team is in the top of the standings.  That would be cool to win in both those leagues to make up for not winning any championship trophies in my Fall leagues.  Don't get me wrong, I ain't clearing out any trophy space just yet.  There's still a good 4 or 5 weeks left in both, and ANYTHING can happen between now and then.  Given what happened to my team in the Willow Creek Sunday Fun Lague this past season(14 point lead in January, but ended up one of the bottom 3 teams in the league at season's end), I'm not taking anything for granted.

3.) Finally got the last of my FInal Grades in for school this past Tuesday.  With the exception of one of my classes, I did pretty dang good.  Now I start my four-week summer course: Fundamentals of Public Address this coming Monday.  Speaking of school, I'm so uber-glad Gov. Doyle's sigiing that bill into law tomorrow(see previous blog entry for full details).  Ever since that came into light, I have been doing some thinking lately.  Even though I'll likely finish up at UW-GB as a Communication Arts major, a transfer to Eau Claire or Madison has been quite tempting as of late.

Until next time!

Oh happy day! May 17, 2006 - 22:37:42
Remember when I said in my last blog entry that I hoped that my life would rebound(hopefully) pretty damn quick?  Well, It offically is.  I just saw on the news that Gov. Jim Doyle WILL sign a bill into law as early as tomorrow that will grant all Wisconsin veterans FREE tuition at UW schools(starting with the 2007-2008).  Being a WI military vet myself, this makes 2 things quite obvious:

1.) I can actually finish college with very little debt.

2.) That Gov. Doyle just secured my vote in the next election.

I'm also gonna be going with a friend of mine from Anime Club this weekend to see the movie See No Evil which I see has been getting very good reviews.  I'm gonna go play some more Kingdom Hearts 2 now.

And so the rebound begins(or so I hope). May 10, 2006 - 19:48:59
After my last blog post, I decided to go do something about my frustrations.  I went over to Wal-Mart and bought a copy of Super Mario 64 DS for my Nintendo DS(only the 2nd game I've bought for the system in the 8+ months I've had it).  I played it for a bit, then decided to get some Italian for dinner.  There's a really good joint just a mile or two from my house and they make some killer CHeese Steak sandwiches, so I got one.  I come back home, grab a brewsky from the fridge and went upstairs to eat.  I then go to check my e-mail and learned that I did not fail the course after all.  Of course, a D in Cultural Geography ain't much to brag about either.

But so far, my life in 2007 has been on a bit of a downward spiral.  I was struggling  in school a bit, my bowling game went down the shitter(went from a 184 to a 173 in less than 4 months), I failed quite miserably two times at finding a significant other, my car broke down(again!), and a host of other little things that kinda snowballed together since the start of the New Year.  Now that the semester is over, I am quite hopeful that things will turn for the better(eventually).  That's all for this blog-isode!

Just when I thought my life couldn't get any worse.... May 10, 2006 - 15:38:56
I wrapped up my Finals this week at UW-GB with two excruatingly tough exams for my Cultural Geography class and my Foundations of Western Culture II class, the latter being an essay exam(which I suck at).  I literally studied my ass off for these exams and when I started up the first one, I knew right off the bat I was in trouble.  The professor for my Cultural Geo. class has a nasty tendency to ask some obscenely obscure questions on his exams.  I'm talking about the kind he almost never mentions in lectures and only appears(if at all) in a well-hidden part of the text.  This Final was no different.  I was already barely clinging on to a mid-D in the class and I just found out I only got a 51% on the exam.  I fear this may have caused me to flunk the class and needless to say I'm just a tad pissed off.  I have NEVER failed a class in my whole life and there's no way in Hell I need to have this happen to me now!

I've got some major frustrations to vent out now.  Relax, I'm just gonna go play some video games and watch some Eyeshield 21 fansubs ans stuff like that.  I'm just glad that shit's over with 'till September.

I hate this f***ing game! April 29, 2006 - 18:42:21
I was just minding my own business, watching the Brewers game and whatnot when I get a call from Willow Creek Lanes because one of the teams in the WIllow Creek Classic(a HUGE bowling tournament with a uber-tough shot they put up) was short a guy and needed me to sub.  The entry was already paid for, so I didn't have to fork any money out.  Thank god I didn't have to pay.  I bowled in it a couple of months back and had then set a personal low with a 396 series(Scratch).  Today, I bowled uber-crappy games of 129,127 and 130 for a new low series of 386.  Needless to say, I was not too terribly thrilled.  That's all.
