Insanity's Meatloaf - recipe February 26, 2007 - 15:36:03

Ingredients:

16 oz ground hamburger

1 egg

½ cup oatmeal

Ketchup

Honey Mustard

2 Hash brown patties

Thaw the hamburger…

Mix the hamburger with the egg, oatmeal, ¼ cup ketchup, and 1/8 cup honey mustard…

Plop it in a small loaf pan when it’s thoroughly mixed…

Apply three stripes of ketchup on top and three of mustard…

Cover with aluminum foil (pronounce it as you please)

Bake at 350 for 1 hour…

Remove the foil and add the hash browns on top…

Bake for 30-45 or until done…

Enjoy!

Now for a story explaining the name…

My internet has been flunky for the last month or so meaning it flunks out on occasion, this was the first item of concern. Friday night my Cell phone ceased to function, this is the second item of concern. The final item of concern was my car not wanting to go in reverse.

Saturday I was completely cutoff due to the above mentioned facts. After lunch I looked around the kitchen saw that my roommate still hadn’t cleaned my George Foreman grill, and that he had used my cast-iron skillet and left it filthy and with water in it. I started cleaning when suddenly the weight of everything became too much. I stopped scrubbing the skillet and stared at the refrigerator… I attacked it with the skillet… (Neither came out of it looking to bad) From there I simply went down hill. I went out to my car and attempted to simply push it out of the garage determined to escape my house.  I slipped and jammed my pinky against the car this got me angry. I went in and watched “a scanner darkly” Which did nothing for lowering my level of going insane. I began arguing with myself out loud at this point. So as to get away from myself I started cooking… the only thing I had ingredients for was meatloaf so that what I made, but I randomly kind of made it not really caring to much about the final flavor. When it came out of the oven though and I tried it I was delighted to find it was so much better than any meatloaf I had made before!

So the moral of the story is low sanity = higher cooking skills…
