CIMG0292.jpgSo last week I put out a few MP3s in a blog entry. These files are versions of songs I plan on putting out on the forthcoming Lt. Snorkel album "Four Vagabonds and a Goat." Well, today I thought I'd share with you another two tracks that are intended for that release. Like the other songs, these are not necessarily the final versions of these songs - so they may be tweaked significantly before I officially release the album this spring.

Before you ask, "Four Vagabonds and a Goat" isn't actually a reference to anything specifically as a title. When I name Lt. Snorkel albums it's literally a stream of consciousness where I come up with random phrases and pick the one I like the best. With Revenge of the Biblioteca and Inverse Proportions the titles came instantly. If you thought there was some deep metaphor involved... well...

...you clearly think I'm smarter than I am.

Anywho, on to the music. Here are your two new tracks:
The first track, "All The Girls On The Internet," is an idea I've had since Happy Wednesday was around, and if we were still together as a band it would have totally come out almost identically. The vocals are kind of sketchy right now, so I might rerecord them. It's merely a bit of nerd rock humor.

The second track, "Should Have Never," is a bit different. It's an attempt to do something with a cheerful beat but darker lyrics. The lyrics are actually mostly from the scrapped lyrics written originally for "New Horizon" off of the Revenge of the Biblioteca release, with some modifications for rhythm. The track is actually almost finished, I just have to do some cleanup on it (there's a couple of recording defects between vocals I need to fix).

This new album is definitely going to be a bit different than the last two releases, and I hope people like the way it's going.
