Ready for Geek.kon! | |

 This weekend, as I've mentioned half a dozen times before, is Geek.kon down in Madison, WI. Geek.kon is best described as two days of pure geekery hosted in the University of Wisconsin's Humanities building. We had a pretty good time there last year so I've been looking forward to this for a while.
I didn't look forward to packing the van.
See, these days I vend for Rising Stuff on occasion, and I agreed to vend at Geek.kon this year (like I did at Kakkoi|Con... these cons like random punctuation in their names, don't they...). I just finished loading the giant red van of DOOM (as pictured), and that is a larger task than it sounds like as I had to do it by myself.
And that includes hauling the far back seat out of the van and up into Crysta and my second floor apartment. That thing is heavy as hell.
So, right now, I'm exhausted and taking a ten minute break before I go and take a shower. In about an hour, Crysta and I will hit the highway... but until then, I am just going to relax until my arms stop feeling like jelly. The fun thing is that the vendor area at Geek.kon is on the second floor, so I have to haul all this stuff up another flight once the convention begins.
Isn't that just lovely.
If anyone wants to see me while I'm in Madison, my cellphone number is both listed on my Facebook page and in The Lounge (for people with access to either of those... and I think this may be the first time I've publicly admitted that The Lounge exists in the first place). Or, just stop by the Rising Stuff table at Geek.kon I guess. That works too.
One of the nice things about this weekend is that I'll get to see my brother David though, as I've mentioned half a dozen times before. David is officially "The Man" for putting Crysta and myself up for the weekend. David's roommate I guess is therefore also "The Man" by proxy, but I don't know him all that well, so I don't give him as much credit...
..or something.
I think what I really need right now though is a big glass of ice water. That would absolutely hit the spot right now.
