WHOA!!! July 18, 2005 - 17:39:17
Okay, Have I got a story for you. Actualy, it's one long story of an interesting weekend.
So, Saturday I wnet out on turtle patrol with some of the field biotechs (I'm a computer tech with GIS/GPS systems) so I could GPS the bird enclosures but as I found out when I got there the GPS unit will not connect to the GPS receiver. In other words, something is missing. Whether it's a hardware or sofware problem I have yet to find out b/c I have yet to talk with someone who used it last. Grrr....
Anyway, on the up side I have all the licences for the GIs programs and I am now able to use the computer programs instead of looking at my computer screne all day long doing nothing.
Anyway, on turtle patrol we had to dig up two possible turtle nests. The first one we dug and dug and dug in the hot sun and sand and found...nothing. The second one we were digging for about and hour AND WE FOUND 100-170 TURTLE EGGS! They're one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. It's gorgeous.
So later on in the day after a long of patroling the beach all 11 of us SCA girls went out to a dance club called Kelly's. Now, this is where it gets interesting. My roommate catches eyes with someone she knows and we go off dancing. Much later on in the night she comes us to us, hands my other roommate a key and me my purse and leaves. Thirty minutes later I get a frantic call from her about how the guy she was with got pulled over and they're doing a sobriety test on him. I said, ok and calmed her down, told her to call me when she knows for sure what's going on. Thirty minutes later, sure enough we need to go pick her up because the guy got arrested for drunk driving. This guy I found out later (whom I don't know) is a law enforcement officer. Anyway, I feel bad for the guy and I hope that everyone can learn a lesson from this, including me.
Then on Sunday, I went to the beach and successful completed my first day of my transition into a "beach bunny". Aka: I spend every possible moment at the beach.
Later, Sunday night I watch StarGate, StarGate Atlantis, and BattleStar gallatica. I'm kinda getting into this whole sci-fi thing nd it's SCARY. Anyway, that is all for now.
