Okay, so I am not allowed to touch my phone. If I get called, that's cool, I can answer it. But I'm not allowed to make any calls (or at least one specific call) until Friday. Why Friday? Because it's an arbitrary day, and no other actual reason. This is a challenge to break myself of mental habits.
This is an attempt to readjust.
Now, I'll answer the phone if I get called, and not worry about how long I talk, but I am not allowed to actually dial. Not for the next few days at least.
I made this decision last night. I went to pick up my phone, and I made myself put it down. I need to break habits. I need to relearn certain ways of thinking. I need to make sure I'm doing something not because I have some need to do it, but because it's just something that I want to do.
If I'm going to be alright, this is a change I have to make.
I decided, and Erin agreed to it, that we wouldn't spend any time together for the next couple of weeks. I need to do some recovery, and it's important to me that I remain friends with her. So, I decided to temporarily eliminate face time.
I'm basing this off of how I got over stuff with Heather just over a year ago. Heather and I are still friends, so I think that if I try and do the same things that I did then, I shouldn't have a problem being friends with Erin.
We'll still talk on the phone, and online. But no being in the same room together for now.
I think this is the right thing to do, as experience has taught me. So, here's hoping that I've actually learned from past choices...
Well, it's getting close to time for me to head off to my English class, so I'll sign off.
I think it's time for some personal rebirth.
