A lot of stuff happened this weekend, some good, some bad. I decided to focus on the good stuff though, and keep things light hearted. From S.T.E.A.K. 2008 to filming the upcoming Fifth Squashing of America to a kick-ass Happy Wednesday concert on Saturday... there was a lot of good stuff in there.
There is quite a bit of music in this video, but the background music is the Lt. Snorkel song "A Happy Song (For the Blue Yarn Kid)." Besides that though, there is obviously a bit of Happy Wednesday as well. You hear parts of "SANDWICH!" in this video, as well as "Dead Birds." In the middle though, you'll hear our version of Danzig's "Mother '93" which we call "Mother '08." It's mostly the same song, but we made it fit a modern Glenn Danzig instead of Danzig from 15 years ago.
Obviously, I want to mention the accident on Highway 53 again. I wrote quite a bit about it in that post, so I won't go into too much detail here, but Ashley Albrecht, a regular on the No Brand Con site more well known as "Teh Energizer Kitten," is in the hospital after her car was struck by a semi on Saturday night. It's a terrible thing, and I really do hope she recovers fully. Last I heard she was still in Critical Care, but is breathing fine on her own. The scariest part is that it's a head injury, and there's often no way to know how that's going to effect a person in the long run.
The stuff in this video was supposed to go online yesterday, but I decided that the events of that accident were far more important than my band singing a song about a Sandwich.
On a less serious note, we did shoot quite a bit of footage for the Fifth Squashing of America on Friday night. Like the Fourth, we went out with multiple cameras, and again like the Fourth Topher and I will be doing our own edits. Mine will definitely be up here on TRHOnline.com, but I don't know if Topher wants me to post his here or not. Topher and Wilky have just launched a site called ExplodingChimp.com, and I know Toph's version will at least appear there.
Very exciting, I know.
Let's try to think happy thoughts people. Think Happy Thoughts. It's the only way we can fly.
(Did I really just say that? Dear lord that was corny...)
