Want to Try Short Film Production? September 25, 2008 - 2:34:42
There are great places online where you can watch all types of short films. Places like YouTube have boomed in recent years, as people want a place where they can upload their own videos and watch those that others have added. While some of these are home videos of all types, there are many that are making their own movies. If you want to try short film production, you may have all that you need to do it at home. It is not that hard, and if you need stuff, it is easy enough to find.

Those that are into television and movie production often have equipment that you won't find in your typical store. You may think you can not get into small film production if you don't have this type of equipment. That is simply not true. You can use your computer to do the very same thing, only the quality will not be that of which you would see in a feature length movie. You can go out and get good editing software that you can use for short film production. It should cost you between a hundred and two hundred dollars.

You also have to have a camcorder when you want to do small film production. If you can, you can get a high definition model, but that is not necessary. You can find amazing deals on digital camcorders in some stores and if you search around online. Make sure you have one that can upload to your computer, or get the necessary attachments that you need so you can do this. If you can upload straight to your machine, short film production will be so much easier on you and will take up less time.

Once you have the stuff you need for a short film production, you have to come up with an idea. These should not be too hard to find, but remember, if you want people to watch, it has to be interesting. You could just go out and start shooting, but you should have a plan in place. If you do, you save time and money on tape or discs, whichever your camera takes. If you know what your story is going to be for your short film production, and you know what shots you want to take, things are going to go much more smoothly.

When it comes to editing your short film production, you may have to practice before you get the hang of it. Most of the software out there today is very easy to use and will come to you very quickly. Once you know how to use it, you are going to get very good at it. There are often effects and other things that can add to your short film production quality. You may not want to try them until you get used to the software, but don't forget to give them a try once you know what you are doing.
