So, I know I seemed a little harsh on Kakkoi|Con in my last entry, but I honestly did have a fun time. The guys who put that on have gotten a lot of crap, but while mistakes were made... you can't say we at No Brand Con have never made comparable mistakes...
Opening Ceremonies in 2005 ring a bell anyone? Hmmm? Yeah, total mess.
So, with that in mind, I say they did a very good job for a first year convention, even if all of my complaints are valid. Things have been interesting lately, as I've spent quite a bit of time traveling around these last few weeks. Of course, gas prices are being scary which makes said traveling hard. It's bizarre to celebrate when gas drops bellow $4 a gallon... when it was under $3 a gallon a year ago.
Frankly, with all this moving around, it's nice to be home. You take for granted simple things when they're around you, but go without for a few weeks? Suddenly they become luxuries. Luxuries you miss severely... like your own bed, your own pillow, your spot on the couch...
...reliable internet access...
But now we're back. Crysta and I finally went out and saw "The Dark Knight" today. That's right, Mr. Obsessed Batman Fan waited this long to see "The Dark Knight." Why? Well, honestly, it was said traveling. Which reminds me, I need to get the backseat of my van out of my living room, as it takes up a large amount of space.
In general though, I've been far too lax on updating this space. Every few months I seem to say "I'm going to update more!" and not do it... so I don't know what to tell you. I intend to update more, and hopefully I'll be good about it in the future. On the upside I have been still tossing up other content on TRHOnline.com, so there's at least SOMETHING going on right there.
You may have noticed that I tweaked the front page of TRHOnline.com. It's to place focus on certain content, and I've been meaning to do it for a while. It's not a big deal, but I just thought I'd point it out. Not a big deal.
I think I'm going to go back to watching Buffy with Crysta.
