Sarah Vowell Owns My Soul
Posted Jan 9, 2006 - 17:42:08

Assassination VacationSo I just finished reading Assassination Vacation by Sarah Vowell. Yes yes, I know it has been out for half a year, but I hadn't the time to pick up a copy until a few days ago. Now, for those who know me (or at least those who read the title), know that I am a big fan of the quirkily voiced Vowell and her penchant for the strange in American history.

Vacation differs from her previous work in format, it is much more connected in it's content instead of merely being a collection of essays, but still holds true to her unique literary voice. It is her strangeness and wonderful writing that Sarah Vowell has found herself on my list of "Most attractive women in America I will likely never meet."

Of course, my criteria for such a list is very different than most people's, but heck - I'm fairly weird myself.

Erika has been here for a week, and it's been nice having her around. Tonight and tomorrow she's in Madison, as she must do her duty as a member of the Board of Directors for the United Council of UW Students. They're hiring someone, and they're conducting interviews. She'll either be back Tuesday night or Wednesday during the day. She'll stay here in Milwaukee for the rest of the week afterwards.

Now to get some work done on the website contract I've been doing since I don't have any distractions...
