Random Art - A New Crosarth Map

Crosarth Map

I've been working on a new worldmap for The Chronicles of Crosarth as the old one, frankly, leaves a little to be desired. Mostly the old map looks like it was computer generated... which it was. I use a fractal world builder for portions of my maps, and while I had intended to use the entire globe I had generated with that original image... I've decided for story I wanted some different geography.

So, since the bit we've seen on the old map is canon, it just means redesigning the parts of the world I haven't shown you yet.

Which I'm doing.

Also, for the record, naming countries is hard.

I agree on naming countries. I actually had an idea for a steampunk story and I can't think of any good names for nations. All I can think of is the "Iron Union" which is based off of a historical name for a nation but I can't think of a good name for the false democracy nation that's going to be the other enemy on the verge of a war.

Cool map by the way, it looks like Europe with a few difference. I'm thinking of making a completely different globe for mine with 4 continents with basic names.
You could tinker with constructing a rudimentary language for the people of your universes.  You don't need to develop it all the way, but if you pin down the sounds of the language and perhaps a few prefix/suffix pieces, it can help create names that sound like they belong together.

Well, the maps names are going to be the Crosarthian names for countries (Just as we call everything by ridiculous English names that often don't resemble the real names of the countries - I mean, c'mon "Germany?").

For languages, I'm honestly just using real languages and ascribing them to various fictional nations - for example, the Pavanussian language is just going to be German.
Ba! Gxi maleksitas.
Yeah, that was not meant to be multifont.
