I know I said on Thursday that I would return to my normal blogging schedule this week, but apparently I didn't manage to do that. Ah well, I at least had the best of intentions.
In any case, this weekend Crysta and I are headed northwards towards our homeland of Wisconsin for the fifth annual Geek.kon in Madison. Geek.kon is one of my favorite conventions, so I'm rather excited. It's also a chance for us to socialize with our Wisconsin friends, which is not something we have that many opportunities to do these days.
I don't know if you've noticed, but I really like conventions. Maybe my webcomic tipped you off or something. There is an energy to them that is just fun in ways I don't think you can find in many other places in daily life.
In other words, they're fun.
I'm not vending at Geek.kon, mostly because back when they had open tables I wasn't sure if I would be able to get enough materials to sell by then. For 2012 cons I plan to be more on the ball, I promise. I have plans to try to get into a few specific cons, but I find myself camping on websites, impatiently loading, hoping Artist Alley and Vendor details will soon become available on those sites... but until then, I wait.
To move back to current events though, I will be walking around Geek.kon this year in one of my Bork Con shirts, so you should say hello to me if you see me.
In any case, Conventions are good. I'll also be attending a few other conventions this year, including LEXPO in Lafayette, IN (where I live), and there's an 80% chance of my showing up at Daisho Con this year barring any work snags (as that's our busiest time of year).
