Countdown to No Brand Con X
Posted Apr 13, 2011 - 8:49:49

YoshiFor the five of you who might read this blog and be unaware, No Brand Con is kind of a big deal for me. I love this convention so much, I can't begin to describe it, and the fact that we've made it to our tenth year (a feat many small conventions don't ever make it to) is downright remarkable. I remember quite clearly when No Brand Con was just an idea a bunch of us were tossing around, now it's one of the most established conventions in the region.

I don't know if that makes me feel nostalgic, or if it just makes me feel old.

Crysta and I are driving up to Wisconsin on Thursday - but we're not doing the whole thing in one go. We'll stay overnight at my parents house, and then early Friday morning we'll drive the rest of the way to Eau Claire. It's funny, I'd never think to travel nine hours to a convention that was east of where I live right now, but driving up to Wisconsin never seems that far to me.

I've gotten most of my stuff done for the con, but I still have to write one more script and finish up some of the A/V stuff for Opening Ceremonies. This is likely the least I've had to do pre-con in years, but it's still a lot -- and feels like more when I can't talk directly to the other people involved.

I think that makes it feel a little more stressful than it should.

In the end though, I'm just really looking forward to spending a nice, long weekend hanging out with friends. I'm terrible with calling people and keeping close contact, so being able to see people in person is kind of important to me. I love this convention so much, and am really proud of what the current staff has done with it this year.

I think it's time for some fun.

This one made me feel a little better today. Despite not finishing my beloved Olivier cosplay, I look forward to NBC again.
Well I am getting my stuff together but I got to make sure my junk in the back seat is moved to the trunk and I got to pack my Wii because Harley may need it for my event and yeah there's stuff I need to do.
I'll be seeing you there at some point!
Hey Trae I'm literally trying to keep from falling asleep in the VGR Quarters right now. A cocoa break would wake me up, I'm so tired that i'm willing to have my face melted to rouse myself once again.
