I just got back from the dentist to have a permanent crown put on the tooth I broke a few weeks back. With the dour tone of the last entry I had hoped to make a pun about being "literally numb" with the anesthetic (playing it up in faux bleakness), but as placing the permanent crown didn't actually require to have my face numbed... well... I've been deprived of a terrible pun.
You shall all hopefully survive.
For the few of you who showed concern, worry not - I'm alright. Light has been shed on the earlier situation, and while I may or may not be able to fix what once went wrong there, once I understand where and when the proverbial stone fell, everything falls into place at least. Anyone who knows me well knows that I obsess over things I don't understand, and it's only once I understand them that I can find rest.
So, to explain while still probably confusing you more, I got my first good night of sleep in days last night.
In completely inconsequential news, I've spent the last week or so going through the entire run of Fringe. Originally I had dismissed the show (and a lot of the science in it still drives me nuts), but I've found John Noble's performance so entertaining I'm able to tune that bit out. The problem is, I'm almost completely caught up with the show now... meaning I'm going to be out of Science Fiction again.
This makes me a bit sad.
I was raining all morning, and it looks like there's going to be a lot of it in the forecast. Since most of my friends are currently dealing with March snow, I feel like I shouldn't complain too much. I mean, it's 53 degrees right now in Lafayette, so it really could be worse.
