I'm getting so tired of her honestly, and don't even get me started with how annoyed I am with people making "Witch" jokes about her. No, she's not a Witch. But there are some of us out there who are Witches, so could you please stop making jokes about it?
But I digress -- O'Donnell represents the very worst of this new breed of candidates: 100% show, 0% substance. Say what you will about the terrible politics and how much I disagree with the Republican party, but at least they used to put up people of substance. I could at least tell there was a thinking brain running the show with John McCain and Dick Cheney. Sometimes a soulless, evil brain - but a brain none the less.
These days though, all you have to do is say you're a tea party member, flash a smile, say "those politicians are crooked" and bob's your uncle! It's ridiculous!
This is the evolution of the anti-intellectual movement the Right's been cultivating for the last thirty years. They've successfully demonized "smart" and this is where we've ended up.
This election cycle is gearing up to be the worst so far, a feat which I fear is going to pale in comparison to the NEXT election cycle when Obama is up for re-election. I can't believe I still have to argue with people over whether or not he was eligible to be president let alone an American citizen...
But the saddest thing is when I first heard about them I actually had some hope that the Tea Party people would start to bust up the two-party system in some meaningful way. Imagine my disappointment when I found out they are essentially the Bat-shit insane wing of the Republican party.
Is it just me, or does her campaign video sound more like a 16-year-old running for class president? It's not so much the content as it is the delivery (the content has problems all its own). I half expect her to plug new vending machines in the cafeteria and an open campus lunch period.
The whole tea party thing makes me want to punch babies..but then I don't punch babies cause I know that's what they want me to do..then they are winning...
