The New Webcomic - Irresponsible Irreverence | |

 So as I've mentioned a few dozen times, today I launched a new comic. It's a simple, single panel comic drawn on whatever scrap of paper was handy at any given moment.
I call it Irresponsible Irreverence. Needless to say I like alliteration.
While I've been writing UnCONventional for a while, and I love writing it don't get me wrong, I often have about a billion other ideas racing through my head. Irresponsible Irreverence lets me put those ideas down without derailing everything else I'm doing.
So, to answer a few questions you may have, yes -- there will be some recurring characters in the new comic. No, they won't be anything like the characters in UnCONventional. Yes, I have a weird sense of humor and yes it's very much going to come through in this strip. So expect jokes along the line of today's inaugural comic.
The art style is a little lazy, I'll admit -- mostly just quick pen or pencil sketches -- but I think the end product will at least be a little entertaining. I've always loved the single panel comic form though, as setting up a joke or getting an idea across is very different than the three or four panel concept. You need to make the joke fast, along with set the entire context. There can be no set up line, no silent panel for tension... just the single image and a subtitle.
Writing that is just a bit liberating.
This is going to be updated on Wednesdays and Fridays, and I've already completed comics through the end of September. That means combined with UnCONventional, new comics will be up on this site four days a week. I know that means that there aren't new comics on Mondays, but I think you guys can survive going a single weekday without some terrible drawing I've done in five minutes.

I won't be able to survive Trae. I honestly don't know how I've survived this long without UnCONventional.
