Three Years
Posted Dec 16, 2009 - 8:10:36

A photo from our first year. Sorry folks, no stick figures for you today. Those of you "in the know" are aware that I usually come up with my illustrations for my blog entries the night before I post them, but last night was Crysta and My Third Anniversary - which needless to say took priority over my drawing stick figures to amuse myself. I know the whole five of you that enjoy the stick figures are probably disappointed, but buck up -- I'll have something for you on Friday or something.

Or not. Whatever. It's just a stick figure cartoon.

Crysta has a final today and I had to go into work early today, so we didn't exactly get to celebrate too elaborately, but we did manage to do something.

I took Crysta out to dinner, and we had a relatively good time (although our waitress was only of medium quality). We don't eat out all that often, so that was nice. It wasn't anything all that fancy, but we're not exactly rich and currently trying to save towards a wedding... so it was what it was.

Sadly, after dinner, Crysta had to resume work on a take home exam which put a mild damper on things, but it was still a nice evening.

It amazes me that it was only three years ago that Crysta and I started dating. It seems like much longer, and that's a good thing. I don't get all mushy in this space, but I can't begin to explain how much better my life has become since Crysta walked into it. I honestly can't imagine life without her right now.

This is, as you may have guessed, one of the reasons I'm marrying this woman.

So the evening may have ended with my watching episodes of "Green Wing" while Crysta wrote about the Nixon Doctrine, but it was still a nice anniversary and that's what counts. This is going to be our last "dating" anniversary prior to the wedding as well... which means that once we're married we can start celebrating our relationship in the summer, when it's not so frickin' cold out.

That will be nice.

Wow, three years.  Congrats, Trae.  I'm happy for the two of you.

Thanks Meep!
How did you both meet might I ask?
We actually first met at the 2006 F'mas party.  We started dating a week after that. :)
