The Cubicle Violation
Posted Oct 12, 2009 - 8:19:33

RoofWhen I woke up this morning it was snowing - which is a bit strange for mid-October. I planned to ponder its significance here in my blog when I got to work (as I get to work a half hour early a few days a week, as I drop off Crysta at the University those days). This was my plan. I also don't like talking about things that happen at work in this blog either, as I like to give as few details about where I work in this space for very good reason.

Apparently both of these plans were dashed today.

When I got to work, I discovered that someone had gone through my cubicle and rearranged everything. My balloons were popped (the balloons are a long story), the various toys moved around, my white board rehung upside down, and several other rearrangements. They also moved around a personal, religious item of mine which has me fuming.

Needless to say, I went from feeling cheerful and optimistic this morning into an extremely foul move.

It wasn't just my cubicle that was messed with, several others in my department had their various personal items rearranged. Apparently, someone with far too much time on their hands and no respect for their coworkers decided that this would be a funny joke.

Well, I'm not laughing.

Seriously, popping the balloons? That's not funny -- that's being a complete dick. And moving around a personal item of mine with spiritual significance offends me on levels that I can't even begin to describe. There's a level of trust you place with your coworkers, and this completely violates all of it. I'm not just mad, I'm completely livid.

I can only hope things somehow improve.

Also, let it be known, that if I ever find out who did this they will be receiving a piece of my mind so large that they'll be knocked into last week. They really have absolutely no idea whatsover how angry they've made me, and I seriously doubt that if they did that they would ever try to mess with me again.

Wow.  What a jerk.  That person probably has no idea.
Well, since I posted this, they've actually come over and apologized profusely.

Of course, they'd already witnessed exactly how mad I was, so telling them off wasn't neccessary in actuality.
