Music in this entry is sparse, but the music that is there comes from the previously mentioned Happy Wednesday concert. It was a little strange as we went without a drummer, but people had a good time and that's what counts.
I had to work on Friday, so we didn't get to the convention until almost 8pm that night. That meant we missed the dealer room, and I wasn't able to sell that day. Matt, Katie and I set up for our concert (while Crysta, the smart one, went and found food). I ended up with some free Ramen that night though, so I didn't starve.
The concert went well, including a request for "Gardening Ninja(s)" which we hadn't intended on playing that night (and hadn't really practiced since last April).
Most of the rest of the weekend was spent in the dealer room honestly, so I didn't get to do a lot of other stuff. Crysta and I did go to the Cosplay contest, but that's really about it. The rest of the time? Totally in the dealer room.
The whole time.
The No Brand Con parties went fine too, and I think a good time was had by all of the new staffers. For a couple this was their first convention, so that in itself was a big deal. In many ways, Daisho Con attempted to clone No Brand Con's formula (which I'm perfectly fine with... we've got a good formula), and I think it benefited this small first year convention.
great concert! kati gave me a bit of a recap on monday. that's also a pretty good sized vendor room for a first year con to! impressive. we will have to make the trip up next year i guess. the playing of "my heart will go on" made me laugh. what hapened to your drummer by the way? couldn't he go? and lastly, did you really think you wouldn't have to do "gardening ninja's"? honestly.
