I have to say, I'm a little bit stunned. I'm not used to my guys winning. It honestly blows my mind... we actually did it. For those who haven't seen the glorious sight:
In 2004 I actually cried when we lost. I mean, John Kerry was never really my cup of tea, but I dislike Bush so much that the idea of spending these four years with him still screwing up our country. But we survived... and long enough to elect a candidate I actually like.
You have no idea how excited I am that I'm actually going to like who our President is.
This is going to an administration that has a Democratic Congress and Democratic Senate. And while we're starting in a pretty deep hole, at least I'm no longer worried that the solution to the problem will be just dig in deeper. Of course, whether or not my party can lead the way I hope they can will remain to be seen, but I sit with patient and cautious optimism.
It's one thing to talk the talk, it's another to walk the walk. I think Obama has it in him, but only time is really going to tell on this one.
