Vinnk's Reception (Vlog 2.24) | |

Vinnk got married to his wife Misako last Spring, but as they live in Japan most of Vinnk's family and friends (who live in Wisconsin) couldn't come to the actual event. Because of that, Vinnk and Misako flew into the US to have a second reception.
Music in this video is provided by Vinnk himself (and Peso), as it's a 1337 Band track off of one of their more obscure and infamous recordings. I originally was going to put in the Happy Wednesday recording of the "Davnesaur Polka" but Crysta suggested the musical change. I think that she made the right choice.
Crysta and I drove to Wausau for the reception, which is about a two hour drive from Eau Claire. The reception was in a building at a small park in Wausau. Honestly, I almost would have driven past the place, but thankfully Crysta spotted it.
Yet again, she of better judgment.
The evening was a fairly good time, and it was nice to get to hang out with Vinnk. Crysta and I weren't the only NoBranders there, as Mike, Thor, and SeanOrange (and his girlfriend) also made the trip into Wausau. I'm a little surprised more people didn't drive in, but that's the way things go.
There was much dancing, music and fun... including Karaoke. I didn't end up singing anything myself though, as the selection of songs was actually a bit disappointing. I mean, there was practically no Queen, and absolutely no Journey...
...which kind of takes away most of the point of karaoke in my mind. But whatever. I have entertaining video of Vinnk attempting to sing which I shall use for future blackmail purposes.
At the end of the night, Crysta and I drove back to Eau Claire in almost pitch black (as the sky was clouded over, giving us absolutely no moon or starlight). It was a good time though, and absolutely worth the trip.
