Some Changes (43rd Vlog)
Posted Aug 18, 2007 - 19:53:08

Some noticable changes have recently occurred (at least in my home life) this last week. I thought I might mention a few of them. Nothing terribly exciting, sure - but hey - it's what my life is like.
Music in this entry comes from two sources - one being (of course) my favorite defunct Nerd-Rock band To Slay Zombie Newton. The other, as you probably figured out, is off my upcoming Happy Wednesday album. I'm going to be building a section of the website for "Happy Wednesday" eventually, probably sooner than later actually. Lord knows the site needs it.

Having the garage get torn down is bizarre. The yard feels huge without it. The new garage is only going to be one or two feet wider than the old one, but I have a feeling the yard will feel even smaller than that afterwards, as my brain will have been reprogrammed with the larger space in mind. It's also kind of strange to have workers going in and out of the yard. I was living in Eau Claire when my parent's resided the house, so while they're used to it, I most certainly am not. Ah well, at least I'm working out of the second floor, so I can just hide and not worry about it.

As for the cat, Jake is a trip and a half. He's a really sweet cat, and very friendly. Jake is four years old, and while he's of mixed lineage, he's (clearly) mostly Egyptian Mau -- down to the "scarab" on his forehead (the video is kind of dark so you might not be able to see it there - but it's really clear in person). Let me tell you, this cat can run incredibly quickly. I've never seen a cat dash like that -- and I've been a cat owner all of my life. Of course the cat I was used to, Andy (the late cat I'd had most of my life), was a Maine Coon - and those are really not speed demons.

Also, with Jake around, we expect to see a decrease with the rabbit problems. He is quite the hunter I've been told.

Crysta and I saw Stardust last night at Mayfair finally. While I don't want to give any spoilers away, you absolutely need to see this movie if only for Robert De Niro's small part. The movie was fantastic through and through... with the exception of the song that plays over the credits. That has to be the worst thing I've ever heard. Crysta and I couldn't help but laugh at it out loud.

It's the sort of thing I'd try to write to make fun of that kind of song.

So yeah, that's life these days. I hope to get some work done on the album this weekend, and at some point this week I'm supposed to help move Mary (my brother's girlfriend), but I have no idea when.

Geh.

kittykittykittykittykittykitty! He looks like he'd be fun to play with. Yay cats! I loved Stardust so much, and Robert DeNiro's character was the change that I loved the best. Absolutely delightful.
