Chris is on leave from the Navy for a week. We got together at Derek's house to hang out on Friday night and had a fairly good time. Well, that and Chris talked about how he accidentally killed a shark once...
Music in this entry is provided by a couple of defunct bands - To Slay Zombie Newton (who provide the opening notes at the beginning of *all* of my vlogs) and my brother's old band, Two Minute Drill (in their cover of the theme to "Mike Tyson's Punchout!"). I really do enjoy my obscure music.
Anyhow, Friday was also Chris's 25th birthday, so we made sure we had a fairly good time. Most of the night was spent hanging out, catching up, reminiscing, and playing Guitar Hero. This may shock you, but Friday night was the first time I'd ever actually played Guitar Hero. Yeah, weird huh? I've played all of the obscure Harmonix games, but their big one that everyone has played? That's the one that I never bothered with.
Well, I've played it now, so it's okay.
I'm going to hang out with Chris again on Monday, so I'm looking forward to that. Apparently, everyone I know from San Diego (where Chris is stationed) is in the midwest this weekend though, as my Uncle (who also lives in San Diego) and his kids are in Chicago as well. We're going down on Sunday to have a family party with them at my Grandparent's house - which should be interesting.
I only see my extended family a few times a year.
Next weekend is the annual family sojourn into the Northwoods, which I'm looking forward to. Life moves at an interesting pace. The only problem with going up north is how I'll be even more cut off from Crysta (as cellphone reception is almost nothing by the Cabin). I want to try to find a way to visit Crysta sooner than later, but I have to get the funding together to do that.
