Unpacked.
Posted Aug 30, 2006 - 18:53:08

Brandi! So, this morning my father and I hit the road, and we headed back to Eau Claire. It was a thankfully uneventful drive, and by early afternoon we arrived in the city of Clear Water.

Exciting, I know.

Anyways, I just finished unpacking most of my stuff, at least into a functional version of home. I'm back in my cinder-blocked box of a room, and sitting in my chair, next to my window... honestly, it's like I never left. Everything is just how it was (more or less), and now that I'm sitting here... well... it's a bit odd. The sheets are back up over the missing closet doors, the stress-punchy-thing is back in the corner by the door, and my dream catcher is sitting over my head right now.

I've even ressurected my masking tape words on the wall - well, I've changed them slightly. Last year, my wall proudly proclaimed "Art is Relative!" but this year I've modified it to the even more cliched "Art is Life!"

...I'm easily amused, I know. But heck, I have a big blank wall that any poster I've ever tried to put on it falls straight off. What else am I expected to do? Speaking of art and posters, I've uploaded some new stuff to the ever subversive "Gardening Ninja Store." You can see one of the images at the top of this post. That particular piece is a reimagining of my old character Brandi, who was the original mascot of No Brand Con, and who I had a comic of run in Vanity Press' Fanboy a few years ago.

I've considered resurrecting the character on multiple occasions - but I don't think I have the time I'd want to commit to her story. Perhaps I could do it in standard prose instead of a comic... but ideas like this I don't have time for. In anycase, she's re-entered my artwork - and I think that this version better captures the character in my head than the original design.

After getting here, I had my necessary phone call with my boss, and we're going to meet again later in the week. It's going to be the most boring meeting ever... but it's something that needs to get done, and I'm the guy who they hired to take care of it.

So, yeah - I guess I can do the job that they pay me for. I think I'm up for that. *grin*

Anyways, I have a meeting in five minutes, so I shall end this entry here. But, in case you were worried and/or cared... I am now in Eau Claire.

Huzzah, or something...
