Peso Sings! So several things on today's agenda. First off, I have a new video for you guys - Peso Sings! It is a commercial for a fictional collection of "classics" as performed by Peso. We shot this back at MarsCon, and you may recognize some footage from "The Power of Peso." This is the video I had originally intended to make back then - but ended up scrapping. Well, I went back to it this summer and decided to re-edit it, and clean it up. In the end, I actually found myself liking the end result. And then I sat on it for two months and didn't do anything with it. Yeah, I know, silly - but I just kept forgetting to post it.

So, in the end, I decided to post the results. It's only about a minute and a half, but I think it's hilarious. Just sit back, and enjoy what happens at karaoke at four in the morning when Peso has had quite a bit to drink.

In completely unrelated news, I've also been fooling around with an AI piece of software and an AIM bot. I've sent the username out into the wild, and want to see what happens with it. The AI is a really basic learning AI, and I liken talking with it to talking with a schizophrenic. It's an interesting social experiment. I want to see also what kind of vocabulary it develops after being exposed to new people. I started the current incarnation off with two scripts from The West Wing and one episode of Sports Night. It's interesting to see what happens to the poor virtual person's mind.

My idea is to eventually create a second bot, and have it talk to completely different people. That one I plan on starting with sanitized chatlogs of mine (real IM conversations minus any real names or personal information) as the starter brain. After both of them have fairly diversified brains, I plan on setting them to talk with each other, and then see what they learn from each other's vocabularies.

Is this something people have probably done before? Sure. Am I perfectly fine with that? Abso-friggin'-lutely. This is for amusement.

So, if you'd like to talk to the currently running bot while it's online, you can find it at AIM username "Lost Chylde 9000" (remove the spaces - I just don't want Google grabbing that). Talk to the poor electronic soul, and try to figure out what the hell it's saying - because I certainly don't have any idea.

For an example of what one of these conversations looks like, Vanessa has posted a transcript to her blog, which should prove to be an enlightening example.

Ah well, time to grab some lunch...
