Melting Snow - old photo, but applicableSo Happy Holidays and all. I hope everyone has been doing well during my sabatical from technology - or at least technology that connects me to the rest of the world. But I'm back (mostly) and ready to resume my electronic excursions, albeit on Dial-up for the time being. What I hadn't announced before, and what I had been collecting signatures for, was that I am running as a candidate for the Eau Claire County Board in district 22 this spring. I have turned in the necessary nomination papers, and should be on the ballot. Don't be all shocked at once, everybody. *grin*

The holidays saw a mighty haul of random DVDs and Books, and a few giftcards as well to pick up the DVDs and Books that I was not gifted. Really nothing interesting to report that you all would care about, but it happened none the less.

I've been spending most of my break hanging out with Derek (roachviii). We've been doing the usual: Rent bad movies, ridicule said bad movies, and then play video games. Derek, Cap'n Kellin, Kellin's girlfriend Sam, and I all had lunch at Japanica today. It was a damned good meal, and much appreciated - Derek paid for me as a Christmas gift. Afterwards, the four of us rented a bad movie (gasp), and went back to Derek's. It was in this moment that I realized that I should, perhaps, host something sometime, instead of going elsewhere.

And then I thought "New Years Eve."

It's just an idea, and not necessarily going to happen, but I think a nice, quiet get together involving movies and video games would be fun. Y'all will have to tell me what you think really. It wouldn't be anything big, not to mention I really don't have much to provide in the way of consumables, but with a little bit of help, it could be pretty fun.

I'm glad you liked Japanica. Sam/Taeliac and I discovered it by accident a few years back, and it's been our favorite restaurant ever since. (especially for cheap lunch!)Their Chicken/Ton-Katsu and sushi bento box lunches are also quite tasty.

That was really fun yesterday, and that movie was wholly entertaining. I kind of want to put "FUCK EVIL" across some old gloves of mine, just for shits 'n giggles.

I have no idea what's going on with me and my better three-quarters for New Year's, so I'll definitely get back to you once we know!
