Slight updates to TRHBlogs
Posted Nov 7, 2005 - 11:13:53

So, this is my occasional post to update about TRHBlogs, and tell you guys what the heck I've been doing with the system lately.

First off, as some of you have noticed by my post of the message board, I've added the ability to allow anonymous commenting to your blog/journal. Why is this? Well, right now to comment a user has to go through the full registration - which does do some nice things like prevent spammers from taking advantage of your blog. But it is a pain for other visitors who may just be stopping by. So, I've given the option to you as to whether or not you want the feature enabled. You just need to go into your settings in Blog Admin Panel and select the option. Don't worry, I've left the blogs on "Registered Users Only" as the default, so you don't have to worry about random stuff if you don't want to.

Secondly, something that's actually brand spanking new with this post. Some people have asked for a bookmarklet (a javascript you can save as a bookmark) for posting to your TRHBlog - so you don't have to load the full interface. I've created such a bookmarklet, and here it is: TRHBlogIt!. That's been added to the FAQ in case you need to look it up again. If you have no idea what I'm talking about with that bit - it's okay, don't worry about it. Just keep using the blog system as per normal.

Both of these features were added because people asked for them. If you have anything you want to see added, please feel free to request it - and I'll get to it eventually.
