Back in Eau Claire Again...
Posted Sep 1, 2004 - 11:45:02

UW Eau ClaireSo I'm back in Eau Claire right now, sitting at my desk in my new dorm room. My roommate seems like a cool guy, which is nice.

The last several days have been rather eventful, but still rather laid back. On Monday I went out and got my hair cut. That's right, I now have short hair.

As I let the few people who I hadn't warned recover from any mild heart attacks, I'll continue in saying that it is very strange to have short hair. I've had long hair for about the last ten years, as I started growing it out almost twelve years ago... It's very strange, and I don't quite recognize myself when I look in the mirror yet.

On Tuesday I moved my crap up to Eau Claire. With only a mild panic about the engine in the van possibly overheating, my dad and I made the trip with little to report. I'm mostly unpacked already (as I travel light), and am very much enjoying the high speed internet access again (bless you, oh wonderful campus OC3). Chris was in Eau Claire for various reasons last night as well, so we went out and saw Collateral at Oak Wood. All I have to say about that movie is: Damn. And I mean damn. It's good. It's very, very good.

Go see it, right now.

Right now I'm watching a taped episode of the West Wing. I love this show, but everyone in the friggin' world knows that by now. It's occasionally being drowned out by passing construction equipment, as they continue to do work on the riverbed project. I was awoken by a passing crane this morning. *shrug*

I'm going to go see Feingold speak tomorrow at Davies center. I'm very excited about that. Very excited. Senator Russ Feingold is the reason I still have faith in the United States government. He's the reason I haven't given up on our nation's future. Because I know, that even if he loses reelection this year, I know that a man like him can get into office in the first place.

And that gives me hope.
