An Interesting Evening to Say the Least...
Posted May 19, 2004 - 0:49:26

Don't go chasin' waterfalls...Tuesday the day was fairly uneventful (except for when I called Erika from my Poli Sci class to tell her that she was missing the final... the panic in her voice over the phone was hilarious). I mostly sat around, took a few walks, and snapped a few more pictures. I'll upload the new shots into the Photo Gallery when I get the chance, but right now I have other plans. I also juggled a little on lower campus with Keanu, Jason and Leah. Oh yeah, I think I got a sunburn too... which is not fun. Note to self, don't fall asleep for forty-five minutes in the sun and expect everything to just be alright.

Tuesday the night was a bit more entertaining. Tonight I went out to the Joynt with Larry, Rachael, Erin, Sabrina, Jess, et al. It was the first time I'd gone out there since the weirdness last January... and it was good. I decided to go down partially out of random impulse, and partly because I knew that this would be the last Tuesday night that I'd be able to go out to the bar with most of these people - as Larry, Rachael, Sabrina and Jess are graduating. It was good.

Many questions were asked as to why I chose to wear a button up shirt and slacks today, and I still have no good reason beyond "I wanted to". If you really demand more than that, then I'm sorry, you won't get any more. *grin* The night's discussions were varied and entertaining, as much was said over several pitchers of Berghoff... of course, I wasn't actually drinking, but still...

Afterwards, I walked along the river. Now, every night for the past couple of weeks I've been taking a walk down by the Putnam Trail. I love the Putnam Trail at night, and especially sitting out on the big rock for twenty minutes or so. Sadly, there are often people sitting down there where I want to sit, as this is not exactly a wholy creative idea. Tonight was no exception, so I found an alternate spot to sit nearby. I hope I didn't freak out the poor drunks.

Afterwards, I headed up the hill to the nightly gathering of Flip Side peoples. Mostly, we sit down in Hilltop from 11pm until whenever they kick us out. It's all quite exciting... oh, no, wait... it isn't. Anywho, when I got there, I met the one, the only, infamous...

BOOMGASM.

That's right, Sarah M. Boomgarden (sp?), she of funny e-mail address, does exist. I think I managed to offend her too - which is a new record. Usually, someone has to get to know me for more than five minutes for me to offend them... Anywho, we have now proven that the infamous BOOMGASM exists, so Brian can stop asking every Sarah on campus if she's the "Boomgasm" girl.

Yes, we were all relieved too.

I know that I usually don't update this often, but since it's technically Wednesday, I figured it's alright. As for the "other plans" mentioned in the first paragraph, I'm going to try and sit down on the rock off Putnam Trail... hoping there are not drunks down there still. Wish me luck.

[Addendum, 3 Hours Later: So, after some meditation to find clarity, I was confronted with an even more cryptic symbol -- the UWEC Clock. That's it, I give up...]
