I like climbing trees, and tossing food...
Posted Apr 6, 2004 - 21:42:10

I swear by Lord and Lady that every day I regress more and more into the fifth grade mentality. Today, at juggling, we ended up climbing trees, marching around in a fake parade, and at dinner salt fights broke out again - along with tossing oranges back and forth at each other. By next week, I'll seriously end up being eleven again, and not even notice.

This is me, reliving a much better version of gradeschool. *grin*

In the "What News is Trae looking at?" file, those familiar with the Leonard Peltier case would probably find it interesting that the FBI has released almost 800 pages of documents to Peltier's defense team. Peltier claims to be falsely imprisoned, and from what I've learned about the case that could very well be true. The numbers of inconsistancies in the prosecution's case against him are mindblowing.

Of course, the most ludicrous news that I've seen today is that the US Justice department is going to start a major crackdown on porn. That's right, porn. Not terrorists, not the mob, not anything important... but porn. And I'm not talking about the obviously illegal kind (like the disturbing concept of kiddie porn), but vanilla, plain jane normal pornography. You can read more about it here, and shake your head. Ashcroft, the guy who would obscure justice, and couldn't beat a dead man in an election, is leading this anti-porn charge. I feel the need to break out the blue ribbon again...
Waiting still to find out what local election results will look like... I'm curiously peering at the Milwaukee Mayoral race. As of right now, Barrett's ahead, but with only 60% reporting, it's too close to call. I know I don't live in Milwaukee, but as Tom Barrett used to be my congressman (before his district got gerrymandered into nonexistence) I feel some sort of loyalty to the guy. He's a good guy, and I'm rooting for him.

And finally, in an action rife with unintentional symbolism - peace itself may be hunted. The Wisconsin State Supreme Court has okayed the hunting of Doves. Oh joy, I've always wanted to kill something that used to bring hope to others... really.

I'm going to go cry now.
