Yeah, I did nothing interesting today, so you get a healthy dose of news today.
To kick off with something I've been sort of following, as The Register has reported that Infinium "We Produce Vaporware" Labs is countersuing [H]ard "There's no good place to insert a nickname phrase in the middle of this, so I'm picking here" |OCP. Infinium Labs has filed in charges in Florida ([H]ard|OCP filed their charges in Texas). Full documents have been dug up and posted online HERE in PDF form.
If you're not paranoid about the possibility of Electronic Voting, I will first rap you across the knuckles with a hammer. If you're paranoid already, here's an interesting article to read. Now feel worried. Very worried. We're looking at a slippery slope here, folks. E-voting is not the answer, without a paper trail there is no recount, and there can be no guarantee than anything is safe.
As I've talked about the RIAA before, and my disgust with the music industry, let's take a look at a new study which says that filesharing has no negative effect on music sales. Huh? What's that? I've been saying that for years?
Yeah. I get to gloat, and do a a little dance now.
Okay, I'll stop. In a final, score one in the fun bin, AOL is giving a away a former Spammer's Porsche. AOL won it in a lawsuit against an unnamed spammer last year, and now (as a BRILLIANT publicity move) they're raffling off the vehicle. This is sort of neat I think... but I get over 300 spam messages a day in my inbox, so anything the screw the spammers is a good thing.
Yeah.
Wait a minute, did I just side with AOL? Heck, you know what that means... it means War, Death, Pestilence, and Famine are just around the corner too, waiting to ride.
