People need to think ahead more...
Posted Feb 28, 2004 - 13:29:36

Okay, so last night's Otaku Anonymous meeting was fun - I want to get that out of the way before I start ranting on things. Why? Because I actually had fun, so my following complaints should be viewed in the light that they weren't a big enough deal to stop me from having fun.

But they still bug me none the less.

See, last night, apparently someone decided to do construction for the convention at the OA meeting. This is all fine and dandy - but what no one was thinking was: "What are we going to do with the stuff we've made when we're done?"

Yeah.

So, people eventually had the foresight to figure out what to do with the more important projects, but at the end of the night, the few of us who were left behind found a pile of materials and nowhere to put them.

Mind you - we weren't the people who had *brought* them. See, people just assumed that someone else would take care of them.

Great. That's responsible thinking, really. Of course, these are the same people who accidentally left Kevin at Menards earlier in the evening, so I guess I shouldn't expect too much...

Thankfully, we got it all sorted out. Of course, I still had to end the evening cleaning up people's garbage... which is frustrating as hell. I swear, I'm going to stand up and make a speech next meeting about the garbage part... it's just happening every week, and I'm sick of it.

I do want to point out, that I still had a good time last night. I mean, really, there are very few things quite as funny as Topher and Kevin running around singing "Pants of Hugeness, Pants of Valor", and dancing around - while Kevin wears a pair of sweatpants (over his jeans) that have been stuffed with various cloth items... making them huge - hence the song.

Yeah... we watched more of the Read Or Die TV series though, and that was cool. I'm finally starting to really dig it. I still say it isn't as good as the OAV, but frankly - very few things are. I do like the way the continued the universe, but it is nowhere near as exciting.

But it's still good, so I'm really not complaining. It's just not the same.

Also, we watched "Battle Royale", which is the second time I've seen that... man, that's a good movie. Next week we're going to watch the second one... so, I'm excited, and worried, as I haven't seen Battle Royale 2, and so it could either be really good... or suck ass.

Only time will tell, eh?
