Snow Flakes and Saints.
Posted Feb 2, 2004 - 1:46:01

I had such a good night, I can't even begin to describe how good I feel right now.

I went down to see the 8:30 showing of 'Boondock Saints' (As I've mentioned I was going to about a bazillion times in this space), and found a Thor, Cheryl, Gojira and Julia at Davies Center. Since I was unsure whether or not anyone I talked to about seeing the movie would show up, it made me smile.

The movie, of course, was awesome. But I knew that already. Thor, Cheryl, Gojira and Julia hadn't seen it before, so I got to expose new people to one of my favorite action films.

After the movie was done, we all went outside and made snow angels in front of K.T. (a dorm, for those of you unfamiliar with UWEC). Then, we walked down onto the rock on the Putnam trail, and had a snowball fight. Thor, who wasn't wearing gloves, started to get too cold and was worried about frost bite -- so Gojira went up the hill, and the rest of us headed into Putnam (the dorm, not the trail we had just been on), and hung out with Abby for a while.

Julia and I then braved the walk up the hill (since Cheryl and Thor both live in Putnam), and parted ways when I headed into Towers and she walked onto Oak Ridge.

And now I write this.

It was a wonderful night, to say the least. It's been a long time since I had this much fun. Honestly, I can't remember the last time I felt this good.

It's moments like this that tell me that I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing. That even with the hurricane of life slamming around me, that there's always hope. Life begins and ends with hope, and as long as you wish it, it is omnipresent.

And I don't think I'm here to live through the storm...

...I think I'm here to help pull people out of it. My complete 180 change of mood in the last few days may seem cryptic, or odd, but that's because most people don't know what's going on. The "stuff" I eluded to yesterday has really put a lot of my life into perspective. Life is so short, there really is no value in putting energy into the things that don't matter.

Oh yeah, and since it's past midnight, everyone say "Happy Birthday" to my little brother, and wish your fellow Pagans a happy Imbolc! Goodnight kids...
