So, I think everyone should be using Mozilla...
Posted May 14, 2003 - 13:01:49

Okay, for those of you who have been living in a hole, I've been trying to convert everyone to my favorite browser Mozilla. Mozilla is, in my opinion, the best browser out there. Why? Because.

Okay, so maybe it's because I've always been a Netscape user (Netscape 6 and 7 are based off of Mozilla code), but honestly - it's a nicer browser than Internet Explorer folks.

And yeah, if you're an Opera user - I'm not trying to convert you. Well, other than saying "Do you really want to keep looking at that damned banner ad?" Yeah. Of course, at this point, you're saying "What the heck makes Mozilla so great?" Well, the answer to that is pretty simple.

1. Built in Pop-up blocking
Never want to see pop-up ads again? Get Mozilla. You can also selectively let certain site's pop-ups through too, in case you get to a site that doesn't allow you to use it with a pop up blocker (*cough*Proboards*cough*).

2. Completely Theme-able.
Just go to Themes.MozDev.Org, and check out the available looks for Mozilla. Heck, if you need to hide it from your boss, you can make it look just like IE, too!

3. Tabbed Browsing.
This was something only Opera had an equivalent to before, but Mozilla has incorporated for some time too. Rather than opening up windows in entirely new browser windows, you can open up multiple pages in the same window. It's cool - trust me.

4. There is an equivalent to Yahoo Toolbar.
At one point, someone said to me "There's no Yahoo toolbar for Mozilla!". Well, there is now... sort of. Go to the website at Companion.MozDev.Org to find out more. There's a Google toolbar too...

There are assloads more reasons to switch from IE to Mozilla, like the TRHCommunity Sidebar for Mozilla (Check the Messenger page to add that to your copy of Mozilla), but I won't list them right now. If you use a Mac, and you aren't using Mozilla, I want to smack you too. Mozilla runs brilliantly on OS X, dammit...

Oh yeah, and you should always support Open Source Software.
